Employee Resource Groups (ERG), bringing employee-led initiatives together under one umbrella to create more opportunities for connection, support and engagement across our health system. ERG initiatives are employee-led events, learning sessions and projects that focus on ways to improve the employee experience while also providing opportunities for community involvement and connection across our health system.

Payactiv is an Earned Wage Access (EWA) program, allowing employees to have access to their earned wages before payday. Employees request funds from the money they have already earned, before they receive their paycheck deposit through the PayActiv app. It’s not a loan, there’s nothing to pay back, and there’s no interest to pay. The money is simply deducted from their upcoming paycheck.

Our employees provide a strong pipeline of candidate referrals for our organization. Deaconess employees can receive a referral bonus from $200 up to $10,000 for their employee referral.

We love to support bringing new residency to our area! For new employees, Deaconess offers qualifying roles the opportunity to reimburse some costs associated with their relocation.

We have the opportunity to leverage the expertise of our current employees to support others. For questions regarding an acute illness or injury, employees can call 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, to speak with an RN.

For those enrolled in Deaconess Health Plans, convenient video visits for minor illnesses are available. Eligible employees can access MyChart to schedule an appointment. Available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week in all 50 states.

You don’t have to be on Deaconess employee health plans to benefit from lower medication costs for both prescriptions and a wide selection of over-the-counter medicines. Three locations to serve you, plus mail delivery in many situations are available. Select locations also support our Script Centers. Script Centers are an automated pharmacy kiosk, offering a quick, convenient and private way to pick up your family's prescriptions 24/7.

Unfortunately, hardships do happen, which requires employees to require more PTO time than has been accrued. Employees can donate PTO to any fellow employee who is experiencing a personal or family situation or crisis. Employees can perform a direct donation or donate to a bank for employees in need.

Supporting our community is a core function of our mission here at Deaconess. Employees have the opportunity to donate non-perishable food and hygiene products to those in need. Employees and community members can access the “Blessing Boxes” at any of our hospital locations. 

The “Right Stuff store offers discounted options on select products for Deaconess employees. Items such as Boost, latex gloves, alcohol swabs, syringes and more are available. 

Our Children’s Enrichment Center offers high-quality childcare for infants through pre-K; facilities are located at Midtown, east Evansville, and Henderson. Costs can be payroll-deducted and are competitive to other Level 4 quality centers in the region.

The cafeterias at several of our hospital locations offer free fountain drinks and brewed coffee each day, twice a day, to accommodate multiple shifts.

The Deaconess Auxiliary operates gift shops at several of our hospital locations, offering gifts for all occasions, greeting cards, floral delivery and more. Purchases of $25 or more can be payroll deducted.
